Nighttime Prayer, 1/28/12

Nothing is more important than this.

There was never a guarantee, not by any God, not by Fate, not by Karma, not by anyone, there was never any guarantee you or I would have this day. Today. It was not promised, either explicitly or by implication. It was a gift.

And, if by some stroke of luck, I wake up in the morning, I will be grateful.

And I’ll do my best to remember all day how lucky I am to be here.
